Exposure, exploration and experience

The β€˜3Es’ help primary aged students make confident decisions about their future

Real-world learning moments

The 3Es are real world learning moments or opportunities that happen throughout primary school that help students gain a better sense of the Signature Learning Programmes and what's possible beyond school.

The 3Es stand for exposure, exploration and experience, and together with the signature learning taster programme, their intended purpose is for young people to feel confident and informed when making a choice about which signature to sign up for.

Early work on the 3Es started in January 2022. At the moment we have the foundations of a real world learning framework: a tool for teachers to design the 3Es will the DOE and learning partners; and examples of opportunities that could be available for primary school students. Work to further develop the 3Es will commence in September 2022 by the Parish Primary School Transformation Teams: groups of educators, parents, young people and community members committed to transforming schooling and learning in Bermuda.

What might the 3Es look like in practice?

The 3Es might take many forms depending on the age of children. Families and educators have already started shaping possibilities and using prototyping tools like storyboarding to describe how children might be exposed to, explore and experience the different possibilities on offer to them throughout primary school.
